This modern City is a great place in the UK to live and work in... By taking a visit and spending some time here you will soon realise while Sheffield people love it so much! Once a UK hub for industrial manufacturing (Sheffield is famous Worldwide for it’s historic steel and cutlery manufacturing) this Northern Yorkshire City is now classed as a UK location that has a cosmopolitan atmosphere as well as many other great qualities.
Sheffield is home to many types of businesses and industries as well as being a leading location for educational and business training establishments. The numerous Sheffield Universities develop and teach students with a strong bias to medical, media, and information technology in particular.
As far as lifestyle activities go, this City is home to some great shopping venues including the well known Meadowhall Shopping Centre Mall. Nightlife:
There are several key locations in the City to go for nightlife. In no particular order these are the City Centre, Centretainment, Meadowhall Centre, Ecclesall Road, and London Road. You will not be lacking when it comes to finding nightlife in Sheffield, bars, cafes, night clubs, gentlemans clubs, restaurants, you will find them all here. For a good cross selection take in the City Centre Bars and Public Houses, you will find small traditional family run pubs through to chic late chill out bars. If you are after something less hectic spend a night out on London Road. As well as being home to a a multitude of small shops London road is home to a multitude of traditional pubs and restaurants. This road is basically a two (2) mile stretch of road that spans out of the City Centre in a south west direction. Here you can enjoy great food and dining experiences including Chinese, Indian, Mexican, and Turkish. The London Road has a multi cultural atmosphere with dining available at excellent affordable prices.
London road is also close to one of the most famous football grounds in the UK; Sheffield United. In the Hillsborough area of the City you will find their leading opponents; Sheffield Wednesday Football Club.
Getting Around:
Sheffield is an easy place to get from one location to another. This modern City features a Supertram Network that is sure to be the envy of other major UK Cities. For just a few pounds you can travel speedily across the City or alternatively be transported to the Meadowhall Shopping Centre, the Arena, Don Valley Stadium, or the Centretainment Complex. The super tram also takes in Ponds Forge Leisure Centre, Ice, as well as providing commuters with a direct route through to Crystal Peaks or Hillsborough. Sheffield has a regular bus service network too that is seen as an essential link to the Universities, Colleges, Schools, and of course the Hospitals. Major hospitals in Sheffield are the Hallamshire, Northern General, the Childrens hospital, and the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital.
